About the Department
The Department had a humble beginning with an intake of 60 students in Under Graduate program in Computer Science and Engineering (B.E.) in the year 2010. Post Graduate program in Computer Science and Engineering (M.E.) was introduced in the year 2014 with an intake of 18 students. Today the Department caters to the needs of 600 students.
The Department has been recognized as a Research Centre by Anna University, Chennai in the year 2017. The Department has excellent infrastructure in terms of laboratories, classroom, seminar hall, etc. Laboratories are networked with seamless internet connectivity with the speed of 100 Mbps. The Department has Wi-fi facility which makes the faculty and students to update and refer the latest technology in their area of interest.
The Department is stepping forward to expand its wings from the national to international arena through innovative teaching practices and industrial/academic collaborations. Department has signed MoUs with Artificial Intelligence Lab & DMS Lab, Konkuk University, Seoul, South Korea, Emurgo Ignitive Labs, Bangalore, Amazon Web Services, RedHat Academy and GUVI. To equip with the state of the art technology, the students are offered with value added courses in Data Science and Big data analytics by Dell EMC2, Oracle, Block chain and Java.
The Special Interest Group is formed in Cyber Physical System, Communication Networks, Computational Intelligence and Data Science which provides a wider platform for the faculty and students to explore their technical skills in their specific area of interest.
The membership activities in professional bodies like CSI, IAENG, ISTE thrives the students to participate in various state and national level technical events. The Department consistently produces University ranks. It has a constant placement record of students in CTS, Accenture, IBM, ZOHO, Oracle, HP,etc. The department continuously strives to improve its academic quality through outcome based education with the dedicated faculty and staff team.
