PROCESS MODELING AND SIMULATION IN CHEMICAL ENGINEERING , KPR Institute Engineering and Technology, Autonomous Engineering Institution, Coimbatore, India

On January 29, 2024,  a webinar on 'Process Modeling and Simulation in Chemical Engineering' was organized for the III year students of the Department of Chemical Engineering, KPRIET, Coimbatore. Dr K. Suresh, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Chemical Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, was the resource person.  The webinar was aimed to deepen students' understanding of important concepts, covering conservation quantities, process variables, and computational techniques. Dr. Suresh's expertise and clear presentation style was well received by the students’, as reflected in the positive feedback. The students’ satisfaction was good, with particular acclaim for the clarity of presentation, relevance to the topic, and the practical demonstrations on density, boiling point calculations, and batch distillation. The event not only aligned with the academic curriculum but also provided valuable insights into the real-world applications of process modeling and simulation.
