As a part of Indian Institute of chemical Engineers (IIChE), KPRIET Student Chapter activity a webinar on Applications of MATLAB in Chemical Process Control is organized online on 19.3.24 through G meet platform. Dr.M.Chakkarapani, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Assam Energy Institute, Sivasagar was the speaker of the event. The webinar was started at 9:00 am online and guest had joined through Gmeet. The students of third chemical engineering were seated in the smart class room to attend the webinar. The topics were mainly on the mathematical modelling, using simulink solving the differential equations and transfer functions. A few glimpses on bode plot and root locus were given. Solving the first order transfer functions to obtain the step and sinusoidal responses and second order transfer function to obtain the time dependent parameters such as overshoot, decay ratio, peak time, response time and so on. After the session an online feedback form was circulated to the students and obtained their valuable feedback. The session duration was about 90 minutes. This event is aimed at exploring the applications of MATLAB and Simulink in process control.
