The Department of CSBS conducted Two days’ workshop on one credit course titled "Google Firebase and MIT based IoT Applications" for Second year Students on 08.11.2024 & 09.11.2024 in IOT Laboratory.
Students are given Hands on experience for the following topics.
Session DAY 1 Workshop Topics: 08.11.2024
FN Session 1 - 1. Mobile App Environment with MIT App Inventor
2. Creating Android App for tele calling and Home Automation Application
FN Session 2 - Firebase Registration and its functional elements
AN Session 1 - Integration of MIT App with Firebase
AN Session 2 - App Testing and Validation
Session DAY 2 Workshop Topics: 09.11.2024
FN Session 1 - Sensors wiring and Data Acquisition
FN Session 2 - Creating Internet of Things Dash Board with elements
AN Session 1 - Integration of Mobile App+ Firebase+ IoT dash Board
AN Session 2 - Hardware Implementation: Data monitoring and control over IoT.
Totally 25 students participated in this workshop. Sessions are Handled Industry Expert Mr. V. Gunaseela Manikandan, Project Engineer, Innovate Engineering, Hosur.
Outcome of the Event:
Project Based Learning.
On the second day of this workshop students are formed as Teams and 5 Projects are Assigned to them. PROJECTS Assigned to students are:
1. Interface MIT App Inventor with an LED to perform ON and OFF functions.
2. Perform sending and receiving sample data through Google Firebase.
3. Establish interface between Google firebase with Arduino and perform READ operation for a given data.
4. Establish interface between Google firebase with Arduino and perform WRITE operation for a given data.
5. Interface a mobile with Google Firebase to perform LED ON and OFF controls.
Evaluation done for each project for the score of 100 marks.
