The Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Advanced Communication for Professional Excellence,” organized by the Department of English, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology in association with NITTTR, Chennai, was successfully conducted from 12th May to 16th May 2025. The program witnessed active participation from faculty members across departments, demonstrating their keen interest in strengthening professional and interpersonal communication skills.
Dr. K. N. Shoba, Associate Professor, NITTTR Chennai, facilitated the sessions with her expertise in language training for technical educators. Through engaging lectures, hands-on activities, and interactive language tasks, she provided participants with practical strategies to enhance clarity, effectiveness, and confidence in both academic and administrative communication.
The FDP enabled faculty members to:
Refine their classroom communication and delivery techniques.
Improve their academic writing, presentation skills, and professional correspondence.
Understand and apply communication strategies for collaborative teaching, research, and institutional development.
Participants reported increased awareness of contemporary communication demands in higher education and expressed that the training significantly enriched their teaching methodologies and professional engagement. The program successfully achieved its goal of empowering educators with advanced communication skills aligned with the expectations of modern academic and technical environments.
