Summary
The Department of Civil Engineering, ASCE Student Chapter KPRIET, along with ASCE Student Chapter Amrita School of Engineering, organised a webinar on the topic "Introduction to Online RCC Building Structural Design Software: MvDAD".
The Guest Speaker Mr. B. P. Karamchandani, MvDAD Software Developer, Maharashtra, handled the session for students through Google Meet. He explained about the online RCC Building Structural Design Software: MvDAD, in which any layman can just select the 12 data from the drop-down box, upload the Centre Line Plan with Column Location, and lastly, enter only the Bearing Capacity of Soil. The software is a 5 in 1 process which includes analysis, design, drawing, step-by-step calculations, bill of quantities, cement, and steel reinforcement. This software will analyze and design the most economical and stable RCC structure as per the laws and clauses of IS 456, IS 875, IS 1893, IS 13920. It also provides Auto Modelling (Machine Learning) of Frames and in-depth Analysis and Design so one can understand the behavior of the structure in Gravity Loads by 2D/3D Frames, Finite Element Method, and Lateral Earthquake Loads by Static Equivalent Method and Response Spectrum Method to Check the Stability of the Structure, P-Delta method, and Detail Calculation of Each Element of the RCC Building Structural Design Project. The main aim of the software is to provide a safe, economic, and stable structure to save human lives. A total of 90 participants actively took part in the webinar, among whom 50 were internal participants and 40 were external participants from Amrita School of Engineering.
