On 22 December 2024, the Uyir Club of KPRIET conducted a road safety awareness campaign at the Kaniyur Toll Gate with a special focus on educating road users about the dangers of drug use while driving. The event was organized to address the growing concern of substance abuse among vehicle drivers and its severe impact on road safety. Through face-to-face interactions and informative handouts, the student volunteers sensitized commuters about how drug consumption impairs judgment, slows reaction times, and significantly increases the risk of accidents. The initiative received positive responses from the public, with many appreciating the students’ efforts in promoting responsible and sober driving practices. The campaign reinforced the importance of staying alert and drug-free on the road, aligning with the broader goal of building a safer and more responsible driving culture in and around Coimbatore.
