The orientation session on “Smart India Hackathon: Pathway to Innovation” created a strong awareness among first-year students about the national platform for innovation and problem-solving. The participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the purpose, structure, and process of the Smart India Hackathon, including how to identify real-time challenges, form teams, and develop feasible and impactful solutions. The session inspired students to think creatively and approach engineering problems from an innovation and implementation perspective, rather than purely theoretical learning. It also encouraged them to collaborate effectively in teams, apply multidisciplinary knowledge, and explore the potential of their ideas to address societal and industrial issues.
As a result of this session, many students expressed enthusiasm to participate in upcoming Hackathon events and to engage actively with the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIIED) for mentoring and idea development. The event successfully instilled a sense of curiosity, confidence, and motivation among young innovators to contribute to the national mission of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.
