The Workshop on βSmart Teaching: Leveraging Digital Tools for Engineering Educationβ and βStory-Driven Engineering Education: Case-Based Teachingβ was successfully conducted on 23rd December 2025 at the 360 Degree Hall, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology.
The session commenced at 11.00 AM with a brief introduction highlighting the importance of innovative teaching methodologies in modern engineering education.
Dr. G. Saravanan, Assistant Professor III, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, KPRIET, delivered the first session on Smart Teaching. He demonstrated the effective use of digital tools to enhance classroom interaction, assessment, and student engagement. The session provided practical insights into integrating technology with pedagogy, aligning teaching practices with outcome-based education and student-centric learning.
The second session was handled by Dr. Manjula, Associate Professor, KPR Business School, on Story-Driven Engineering Education and Case-Based Teaching. She emphasized the role of storytelling and real-world case studies in simplifying complex engineering concepts and fostering analytical and decision-making skills among students. The session was interactive and encouraged faculty members to redesign their teaching approaches using narrative-based learning strategies.
Faculty participants actively engaged in discussions and hands-on activities. The workshop successfully sensitized faculty members to contemporary teaching practices and reinforced the importance of innovation in classroom delivery.
The event concluded at 12.30 PM with positive feedback from participants, who expressed confidence in implementing the discussed strategies in their respective courses. The workshop contributed significantly to faculty upskilling and supported the institutionβs commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement.
