The Mr. Mechanic Competition effectively achieved its objective of assessing and enhancing the technical competency and practical problem-solving skills of participants. Through a structured evaluation process, participants demonstrated their understanding of core mechanical engineering concepts, particularly in manufacturing and applied mechanics.
Out of all the participants, 5 teams were shortlisted through an initial screening round based on their performance in technical and analytical questions. These shortlisted teams exhibited strong conceptual clarity and were advanced to the final round.
The final round enabled participants to apply their knowledge in practical and scenario-based tasks, testing their ability to analyze, interpret, and solve real-time engineering problems under constraints.
As a result of the competition:
1 team was declared as the Winner, demonstrating exceptional technical accuracy, speed, and problem-solving ability
1 team was awarded as Runner-up, showcasing strong analytical and practical skills
Overall, the event enhanced students’ confidence, technical aptitude, and readiness to handle real-world mechanical engineering challenges.
The Mr. Mechanic Competition was conducted successfully as part of FIESTAA ’26 by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology. The event aimed to identify and reward students with strong technical knowledge and practical skills in core mechanical engineering domains.
The competition was organized in multiple rounds. The initial screening round consisted of challenging technical questions, primarily focused on manufacturing and fundamental mechanical concepts. Based on performance, 5 teams were shortlisted for the final round.
The final round involved problem-solving activities and application-based tasks designed to evaluate participants’ practical understanding, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills. The teams were assessed on their approach, accuracy, time management, and technical justification.
The competition witnessed active participation and a high level of enthusiasm among students. Participants demonstrated strong engagement and competitive spirit throughout the event.
At the conclusion of the competition:
One team was declared as the Winner
One team was recognized as Runner-up
The event was successfully conducted and served as an effective platform for students to apply theoretical knowledge in practical scenarios, thereby strengthening their core engineering competencies and teamwork skills.
