Dr. Akila Muthuramalingam is an accomplished academic leader and technology professional with over three decades of experience in Computer Science and Engineering, institutional leadership, academic administration, and strategic transformation.
As the Chief Executive Officer of KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, she leads the institution with a strong vision for academic excellence, innovation-driven learning, industry collaboration, and future-ready education. Her leadership focuses on building sustainable systems that empower students, strengthen faculty capabilities, and align the institution with the evolving needs of technology, industry, and society.
She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Strategic Management from the Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli, a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University Chennai, a Master of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering from National Engineering College, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering from Thiagarajar College of Engineering.
Her academic and professional contributions include research publications in areas such as artificial intelligence, biometric authentication, image processing, smart healthcare systems, foot-ulcer detection, fingerprint segmentation, and keystroke dynamics. She has also contributed to patents in areas including deep learning-based stock market prediction, career planning and guidance systems, network security using honeypots, comfort-based material innovation, and low-temperature imprinting technology.
Dr. Akila has received several recognitions for her academic excellence and professional contributions, including the Young Women Engineer Award, KBS Award, Cambridge International Certificate for Teachers and Trainers at Professional Level, and University Rank recognition in M.E. Computer Science and Engineering.
