Central Library acts as the main learning resource centre of the Institute. It has been providing up to date and nascent information resources and services both in hard and soft forms to the academic and administrative communities’ since 2009. Moreover, it has become an indispensable learning resource centre for students, researchers and faculty members.

The Library has over the years built a robust collection of over 40000 books, 124 current subscriptions to print journals, magazines, newspapers, and many other resources. The Central Library offers its users the convenient access to the best of Engineering subject related digital resources through its subscription to e-databases in which more than 300 e-journals, 100 plus e-books from Pearson and McGraw-Hill with concurrent usage, consisting of scholarly contents round the clock all across the campus via Wi-Fi network.

We plan to achieve this through superior quality service with consistence. We focus on values like quality, utility, accessibility and stability.

Books: The library has successfully built up a comprehensive collection of over 24,225 books covering different branches of knowledge, Besides, there are also more than 108 eBooks available in electronic form covering varied subjects

Journals & Electronics Resources: The library subscribes to 124 print periodicals (both Indian and Foreign) specific to the academic and research needs of the academic community of the college. There are more than 309 electronic Journals through the online databases subscribed by the library. There are more than 100 bound volumes of Journals in the library.

Videos: 9300 NPTEL videos are available for academic and online exam purpose.

CD-ROMS: The library has 1150 CDs/DVDs on Books, TOEFL, IELTS, Gate, encyclopedias, dictionaries, etc.

Magazines & News Papers: The library subscribes to 34 Magazines and 12 newspapers with multiple copies to cater to the needs of the students and academic community.

Other Resources: The Library also holds a collection 645 of students Project reports, more than 2000 book bank books in all subjects areas being taught at the college.

General Instruction

  • Silence is to be strictly observed.
  • Members are given free access to the stacks and browsing privilege.
  • Do not waste more time to locate the documents. For assistance, contact the library staff.
  • Do not move books/journals from specified area to another area.
  • Do not use others ID cards for borrowing books.
  • Users are requested to avoid talking or discussing as it will disturb other readers. Reading halls are meant for individual study only.
  • Chairs and tables should not be disturbed from their position
  • Readers are requested to switch off their Mobile phones.
  • Books and bound volumes should be handled with great care.
  • Mutilation and disfiguring of pages of library materials by ink or pencil marks are prohibited.
  • Defects found in the books and bound volumes taken out for reading or borrowing should be brought immediately to the notice of the staff on duty.
  • Books loaned should be protected from RAIN, DUST, INSECTS, etc.
  • Non-library materials should not be brought inside the Library.
  • On violation of Library Rules or misconduct by any reader, the library authorities can withdraw the library facilities to that particular individual.
  • Sign the register kept at the Check point, while entering the library.
  • If books are lost, the charges will be double the cost of books.

Rules and Regulation for use of Digital Library & Laptops/Tablet by the Students

  • Laptop/Tablets are allowed in the Reading area for study and academic purpose only.
  • Students are advised to maintain discipline and silence while using Laptop/Tablets.
  • Laptop/Tablets users are strictly not allowed in the Digital library.
  • Chatting through internet and any other networking sites is strictly prohibited.
  • Don’t disturb the digital library system like removing mouse, keyboard etc,.
  • Any other use of system except for the purpose of study is strictly prohibited.
  • Students are advised to adhere to the rules and regulations of the Reading area and obey the Instructions of library in-charge

KPR Library has gone online within the KPRnet (KPR Intranet).

OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) facility is now available at the library entrance to facilitate online search of books available in the library with Title, Author, Keyword and Subject search options.
