To create awareness among students on role of birds in ecosystem

The ECO club of KPRIET Sangamam organized an awareness program on Birds. We invited Rtn. Ravindran Kamatchi, President of Nature Society, Tiruppur. He is also a motivational speaker. Our chief guest started the session with the quote “ Birds can live without the help of humans.But humans cannot live without the help of birds”. His words created a great impact among the students on the importance of birds in the ecosystem.The event started with the release of our Herbal garden pamphlet “Land of Herbals” by our chief guest, Head of the department of chemistry Dr.Balasubramanian,Sangamam Faculty Coordinator Dr.V.Rajeshkumar and our Club coordinator Dr.R.Saravanan. He shared about the ongoing project, Tamilnadu’s 17th Bird Sanctuary in Nanjarayan Tank (also known as Sarkar Periyapalayam Reservoir), a biodiversity hotspot in Tirupur. He shared more information about migratory birds. He also explained the role of human beings in helping the birds to live in its natural habitat peacefully. He described the difference between the environment and its impact of olden days and now. He described more about owls and its role in the ecosystem. He explained the evil effects of plastics on birds. The participants got to know more about birds and humans' responsibilities in protecting the birds.He made an interactive session with the participants. He also gifted the participants who answered the questions correctly with the birds' pictures captured by him. We had an interesting and informative session. More than 70 students participated in this event.
