Outcome
The event Switch Talk organised by the Sweet Talkerz club aimed at upskilling the oratory skills of the participants. It also focused on enhancing the communicative skills and presence of mind of the students. The event even uplifted the confidence of the students, enabling them to speak on any topic that was given on the spot. It also gave them the opportunity to analyse a particular social issue in terms of merits and demerits. It created a positive environment and platform for students to speak up their mind in a natural tone.
Summary
The Sweet Talkerz Club of Team IGNITRRON organised SWITCH TALK for all the external participants on Thursday [16\02\2023] as a part of FIEATAA 23. The event had a good response of more than 100 registrations. Dr. R. Vidhiya, Assistant Professor, Dept of English, Ms. S. Suvitha, Assistant Professor, Dept of English and Ms. S. Brindha, Faculty Coordinator, Sweet Talkerz club were the judges of this event. Surya Prakash S and Hithesh N were the event coordinators. “Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen” with this quote the event started by 10.00 AM followed by general instructions given to the participants and successfully ended at 12.30 PM. The participants were given with a topic and asked to speak about the pros and cons of the topic. When the bell rang, they had to speak the pros and cons simultaneously. The event was fruitful with 35 participants . All the participants exhibited their thinking and oratorical skills. They were evaluated for their content, pronunciation and also based on their vocabulary skills. The best way of cherishing the talents, is by rewarding them with awards and best wishes. Ayush from KMCH won first prize and Krishneth from PSH ITECH won second prize. They were awarded with a shield and cash prizes. The Juries congratulated the winners and the participants too. All the participants were awarded with participation certificates. The event got positive feedbacks from the participants.
