Summary

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in association with Continuing Education Program (CEP) of KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology is organized “a one-day hands-on workshop on “Network Modeling and Simulation using OPNET Modeler” on 28.04.2023 for outside participants. There are 74 participants attended the event. The event started by addressing the gathering by Dr. M.Vasimbabu Head / CEP. After the inaugural address, the session is handover to the resource person Dr.K.B.Gurumoorthy AsP/ECE, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology. He explained the following topics during his presentation
•           Introduction to OPNET modeler
•           Installation, account Creation and activation Procedure for OPNET
•           OPNET – Simulation Work Flow
•           Create models of networks
•           Simulation of various protocols using OPNET.
            Later two simple networking concepts were simulated and demonstrated through OPNET software. The session end for lunch.
            During the afternoon session, hands-on training was given to the participants and clarified the students’ doubts.
               Dr.J.Indra Head/ECE interacted with the participants and she highlighted about the KPR institutions and department salient features. Dr.J.Indra Professor& Head collect the feedback about the event and participants provided their valuable feedback. The participants requested to organize the same workshop which covers the operation of complex network circuits concepts in real time applications through OPNET simulation. The certificate was distributed by the Head of the department. Finally, the vote of thanks was given by the event coordinator Dr.J.Prasad AP (Sl.G)/ECE, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology-Coimbatore.
               All the participants were requested to post their valuable feedback about the event through the Google form circulated through the registered mail id.
