180 hour Skill development program on "Robotic welding & Additive Manufacturing"
Description

A 180-hour Skill Development Program on “Robotic Welding & Additive Manufacturing” is being organized from 23rd February 2026 to 23rd March 2026 for 10 students from Jothi Engineering College, Kerala. The program is structured to provide intensive hands-on training and industry-oriented exposure in advanced and intelligent manufacturing technologies.

The curriculum includes practical training in robotic welding systems, welding automation, process parameter optimization, and industrial safety practices. It also covers additive manufacturing technologies, design for additive manufacturing, and material–process selection. To strengthen interdisciplinary skills, the program incorporates Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques for weld and component quality evaluation, CAD/CAM for product design, modeling, and tool-path generation, and PLC programming for automation, control logic development, and integration of manufacturing systems.

The program emphasizes experiential learning through laboratory sessions, live demonstrations, and real-time problem-solving activities. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial practice by enhancing students’ technical competency, system integration skills, and employability in the domains of advanced manufacturing, automation, and smart production systems.
