The workshop on Vehicle Dynamics resulted in measurable enhancement of students’ technical understanding and industry awareness. Participants developed a clear grasp of key concepts such as vehicle stability, handling characteristics, suspension behavior, and tire-road interaction.
Students were able to:
Interpret the influence of mass distribution, center of gravity, and load transfer on vehicle performance
Understand real-time applications of vehicle dynamics in automotive design and testing
Analyze basic dynamic behavior during braking, acceleration, and cornering
Gain exposure to industry practices followed in vehicle dynamics divisions
The interactive nature of the session improved critical thinking and encouraged students to relate theoretical concepts with practical automotive systems. Overall, the workshop contributed significantly toward bridging the academia–industry gap and strengthening core mechanical engineering competencies.
A workshop on “Vehicle Dynamics” was successfully conducted on 21st February 2026 at 10:00 AM in the IV Mechanical Classroom of KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology as part of FIESTAA ’26.
The session was delivered by Mr. E. Aravindram, Manager – Vehicle Dynamics Division at TVS Motor Company. The workshop commenced with an introduction to the fundamentals of vehicle dynamics, followed by detailed discussions on key parameters affecting vehicle motion, including longitudinal, lateral, and vertical dynamics.
The resource person elaborated on critical topics such as suspension systems, tire characteristics, ride comfort, and vehicle handling. Practical insights from industry applications were shared, enabling students to understand how theoretical principles are implemented in real-world vehicle design and testing.
The session also included interactive discussions where students actively engaged by asking questions related to automotive performance, safety, and emerging trends in the mobility sector. The workshop provided valuable exposure to current industrial practices and technological advancements in vehicle dynamics.
The event concluded successfully with positive feedback from participants, highlighting the relevance and effectiveness of the session in enhancing their technical knowledge and practical understanding.
