34TH NATIONAL ROAD SAFETY WEEK -2023"-AWARENESS PROGRAM, KPR Institute Engineering and Technology, Autonomous Engineering Institution, Coimbatore, India

To create Road Safety Awareness and to commemorate the 34th National Road Safety Week -2023

On January 21st, 2023, the National Service Scheme and 6TN Medical Company of KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, in association with Tech Mahindra, organized a "National Road Safety Awareness Program" under the theme of 'Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha' at the Kaniyur Toll Plaza. The program aimed to raise awareness about road safety and the importance of adhering to traffic rules to prevent accidents and save lives.
The event was graced by the presence of the Inspector of Karumpathampatti area, Mr. Rajadurai, who gave a speech on the importance of road safety and the role of citizens in ensuring the safety of themselves and others on the roads. Mr. Rammohan, Delivery Manager and Mr. Saravanakumar Manian, Operations Manager of Tech Mahindra, facilitated the event and emphasized the company's commitment to promoting road safety and reducing accidents on the roads. The Manager of IVRCL, Mr. Rajkumar, also graced the occasion and shared his thoughts on the importance of road safety and the role of the construction industry in ensuring safe roads for all.
The event also had the presence of the Registrar and Director of Planning and Development Committee of KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology who joined the event and addressed the public on road safety. The volunteers and cadets of NCC and NSS played a major role in creating awareness among the public by distributing antiglare stickers and flyers to vehicles passing by the toll plaza. The volunteers also distributed pamphlets and brochures on road safety to the public to educate them on the importance of following traffic rules and regulations.
The program received an overwhelming response from the public and was a huge success in raising awareness about road safety. The organizers plan to conduct similar programs in the future to continue their efforts to promote road safety and reduce accidents on the roads.
