Dr. R. Devi Priya is a committed leader in engineering education with over 19 years of academic, research and industry experience. She began her professional journey at Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., where she gained valuable industry insights before transitioning to academia.
She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University, Chennai (2013), an M.E. (CSE) from Kongu Engineering College (2006) with a university rank, and a B.E. (CSE) from the same institution. Her research interests span Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Optimization Techniques with significant contributions to optimization algorithms, intelligent data preprocessing, machine learning for healthcare, IoT security and evolutionary computing. Her work focuses on developing computational models that address real-world challenges and applications.
A prolific researcher in AI and Data Science, Dr. Devi Priya has an impressive academic record with 90 research publications, including 34 papers in SCI-indexed journals published by IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, Bentham Science, IOS Press, and Inderscience. Her research consistently appears in high-impact platforms, with several journals featuring her work having impact factors exceeding 8.4.
She has also made significant contributions to academic literature through three authored books and twenty book chapters published by renowned international publishers, including Springer and IGI Global. Her book chapters delve into diverse and emerging areas such as AI-based healthcare analytics, big data in cloud platforms, machine learning for agriculture, and intelligent automation systems. These research endeavors have enriched global perspectives of AI-driven engineering solutions and strengthened India's footprint in international research collaborations.
Dr. Devi Priya has successfully produced four Ph.D. scholars and is currently supervising eight researchers. She has completed seven consultancy projects and has actively participated in 30 conferences across the globe. Beyond research, she serves as an editor for reputed journals, a reviewer for reputed publications, and an advisory committee member for several international conferences. She is also an active advisor of the IEEE Computer Society. In addition, she has delivered more than 50 invited talks and chaired several academic sessions. With a total research grant of about Rs. 50 Lakh, she has successfully organized workshops, seminars and conferences that foster innovation and knowledge exchange in engineering education and research.
Recognized for her excellence, she has received several accolades including the CTS Best Faculty Award, the Best Faculty Award and also secured a prestigious University Rank in her postgraduate studies.
