KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology's Department of Civil Engineering, in association with the Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS), recently organized a National Level Workshop and Quiz Contest on April 27, 2023. The event received an overwhelming response from 110 students, including participants from 15 different colleges. The workshop's main objective was to promote “Sustainable Geotechniques and Discuss Case Studies of Failures in Bridge Works”. Dr. Anil Jopesh, the President of IGS, delivered an inspiring and informative talk on the topic. His valuable insights and knowledge were truly motivating for all the participants. Dr. P. D. Arumairaj, Chairman, IGS Coimbatore, provided valuable guidance throughout the workshop, and his expertise was instrumental in making the event a grand success. Dr. S.P. Jeyapriya, Honorary Secretary, IGS Coimbatore, also delivered an informative talk about IGS and its activities, which helped the participants gain a better understanding of the organization and its objectives. The highlight of the event was the quiz contest, which saw a fierce competition among the participants. The winners of the contest were Gunanandhini R and Poojasree R from Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, who won the first prize, while Vasanthan S K and Mugunthan B from KPRIET won the second place. Sathya Gomathi JS and Rijul S from Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology secured the third prize. The organizers expressed their sincere gratitude to all the participants for their active participation and enthusiasm, which contributed to making the event a grand success.
