The Department of Engineering Mathematics was established in 2009, coinciding with the inception of the institute. It plays a vital role in strengthening the mathematical foundation of engineering education. With a dedicated faculty strength of 24 members (all Ph.D holders) and 25 research scholars (18 full-time and 7 part-time). Also, 9 faculties got research supervisors under Anna University. The department brings together expertise across diverse areas such as Differential Equations, Control Theory, Fluid Dynamics, Graph Theory, Fractional Differential Equations, Topology, Operator Theory, and other emerging fields of mathematics. The department has a strong research profile, with faculty members collectively publishing more than 170 research papers in national and international journals. The department is committed to nurturing mathematical thinking, logical reasoning, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills among engineering students.
The department promotes academic excellence with MATLAB-integrated courses and knowledge exchange by organising workshops, webinars, seminars, and faculty development programmes (FDPs) both offline and online. These initiatives provide valuable learning and professional-development opportunities for students, research scholars, faculty members, and academicians from institutions across the nation. With its commitment to teaching, research, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration, the department continues to contribute significantly to the academic and professional development of engineering graduates.
