The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering hosted a DRDO-sponsored national-level seminar on 'Securing Wireless Communication in Defense: The Importance of Cyber Security' from November 3, 2023, to November 4, 2023. The seminar aimed to delve into critical aspects of wireless communication and cybersecurity within the defense sector. A total of 50 external participants have registered for the seminar. The event commenced with participants registering for the seminar, creating a buzz of anticipation. The official inauguration marked the start of the seminar, setting the stage for two days of insightful discussions. Dr. Harihara Gopalan S, Associate Professor/CSE at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore, delivered a thought-provoking keynote address. Dr. Harihara Gopalan S. continued the discussion, offering further insights into the 'Overview of Wireless Communication in Defense.' R. J. Indra, Professor and Head/ECE at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, addressed the critical issue of 'Cyber Security Threats to Wireless Communication.' Dr. R. Lavanya, a research scientist at Caliber Interconnect Solution, Coimbatore, provided an outlook on 'Physical Security and Future Directions' in wireless communication.
The second day session started with Dr. Gurumoorthy, Associate Professor/ECE at KPRIET, Coimbatore, stressing the 'importance of cybersecurity in defense.' Dr. A. Soundarrajan, Professor/EEE at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, explored 'Emerging Technologies in Wireless Communication and Cybersecurity.' The event concluded with Mr. Maharaj M., a blockchain and cybersecurity consultant and IT project manager, addressing 'Cybersecurity Measures for Wireless Communication in Defense.'
