This course equips students with a comprehensive understanding of digital forensics, covering fundamental concepts and practical applications. Students will explore the scope and history of computer forensics, investigator skills, types of evidence, and the importance of law enforcement training. They will gain hands-on experience in acquiring and documenting evidence, including cloning hard disks, extracting data from devices, and setting up forensic laboratories. The course delves into online investigation techniques such as conducting undercover operations, collecting website evidence, performing suspect background searches, and capturing online communications. Additionally, students will develop expertise in network and mobile forensics, including analyzing networking devices, understanding the OSI model, investigating network attacks, and handling handset evidence.
