The Department of ECE and IEEE Communication Society of KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology organized a guest lecture on “Career Opportunities in 5G and Beyond” on 18th February 2025 at Thanam Hall. The session was delivered by Dr. Hui-Kai Su, Professor at National Formosa University, Taiwan, and was attended by over 120 students from the ECE and allied departments. Dr. Su provided an insightful overview of 5G architecture, key technologies such as eMBB, URLLC, and mMTC, and discussed real-world use cases across sectors like healthcare, transportation, and smart cities. He also introduced emerging trends in wireless communication beyond 5G, including 6G research, terahertz technology, AI integration, and software-defined networking. The session emphasized the skill sets required for global careers in wireless communication and highlighted research and internship opportunities. Students actively participated in a Q&A session, seeking guidance on career planning and further studies. The event was well-received and contributed significantly to broadening students’ understanding of industry trends and global career pathways.
