The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, in association with IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) and IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS), successfully organized the Industry Academia Conclave 2026 on 24 January 2026 at Thanam Hall, KPRIET. The conclave was centered on the theme “Energy Transition in India – Bridging Policy, Technology, and Industry Needs”, addressing the evolving challenges and opportunities in the Indian power sector.
The event commenced with an inaugural session, followed by expert talks delivered by eminent speakers from government organizations, renewable energy institutions, and the power industry. The speakers shared valuable insights on power sector transformation, renewable energy integration, grid modernization, power quality and reliability, and the role of skill development in supporting India’s energy transition.
The sessions emphasized the need for close collaboration between academia and industry to ensure curriculum relevance, practical exposure, and research-driven solutions. Participants actively engaged in discussions, gaining clarity on regulatory perspectives, industry expectations, and emerging technological trends.
The conclave witnessed enthusiastic participation from industry professionals, faculty members, researchers, and engineering students, making it a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange and networking. The event concluded with an interactive session and vote of thanks, marking the conclave as a significant step towards strengthening industry–academia collaboration and preparing future-ready electrical engineers.
