Report of the Event:

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in association with the KPR International Centre (KIC), organized a Faculty Orientation on "Drafting Winning Research Proposals" on 31 July 2026 at the EEE Board Room. The session was delivered by Prof. Dr. Saad Mekhilef, Distinguished Professor, Swinburne University, Australia.

The orientation was designed to strengthen the proposal writing capabilities of faculty members and enhance their success in securing competitive research funding. Prof. Dr. Saad Mekhilef shared his expertise in developing high-quality research proposals for national and international funding agencies. He explained the key elements of a successful proposal, including identifying research gaps, formulating clear objectives, defining innovative methodologies, preparing realistic work plans and budgets, and demonstrating the significance and societal impact of the proposed research.

The session also covered strategies for aligning proposals with funding agency priorities, building multidisciplinary collaborations, and addressing evaluation criteria effectively.
