Mechanical Engineering Association Inauguration, KPR Institute Engineering and Technology, Autonomous Engineering Institution, Coimbatore, India

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology inaugurated the Mechanical Engineering Association on 07 August 2026 at Kone Lab, Bhaskara Block. The event was organized to mark the beginning of the association's activities for the academic year and to inspire students toward professional and technical excellence.

The programme commenced with the Welcome Address delivered by Dr. N. Udhayakumar, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, chief guest, and students. This was followed by the Presidential Address by Dr. Arulmurugan, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, who emphasized the importance of the association in enhancing students' technical knowledge, leadership qualities, and industry readiness.

The Special Address was delivered by Dr. Ravikumar, Head of the Department of First Year, who encouraged students to actively participate in association activities and continuously develop both technical and interpersonal skills throughout their engineering journey.

The highlight of the event was the Chief Guest Address by Mr. Mahendran Muthu, Proprietor, NexGen Gears, Coimbatore. He shared valuable insights on the skills required for aspiring engineers to succeed in the modern industrial environment. He emphasized the importance of technical competence, problem-solving ability, effective communication, teamwork, adaptability, and continuous learning. He also discussed the existing gap between academic learning and industry expectations and suggested practical ways to bridge this gap through internships, industry projects, certifications, hands-on training, and self-learning. His interactive and motivational speech encouraged students to prepare themselves for future challenges and career opportunities.

The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Karnika, Secretary, who expressed sincere gratitude to the chief guest, management, faculty members, organizing committee, and students for their valuable contributions and participation. The inauguration was a grand success, providing students with meaningful guidance and motivation to enhance their professional skills and make the best use of the association's future activities.
